Bellevue West Student Arrested After Struggle With Officer

The incident happened around 3:15 Tuesday afternoon.  Bellevue Police say the 17 year old student was being escorted to the Dean’s Office regarding a theft investigation.

The student was told he was being issued a citation for possessing a stolen IPhone.  Police say the juvenile became combative and began punching holes in the wall of the school office.

The Bellevue Police School Resource Officer tried to restrain the student and take him into custody but, the student resisted and a physical struggle ensued.

The SRO activated the emergency button on his Police radio and indicated he needed help from another Officer.  Several Bellevue Police Officers responded to the school.

The juvenile was placed in handcuffs and is being charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest.
