City Goes Toe-To-Toe On Yard Waste Hassles

Omaha city officials have met with management at Deffenbaugh Industries to discuss delays in yard waste collection.

The city has contracted with Deffenbaugh for trash, recycling and yard waste services,  but yard waste pickup this year has been spotty.  Deffenbaugh says normally, 18 drivers are needed for yard waste routes, but right now, only eleven positions are filled.

Deffenbaugh says more drivers are being trained.  Until they're on line, the company will continue to collect six days a week until the backlog is cleared.
