Construction Worker Critically Injured After Co-Worker Suffers Seizure

A bizarre chain of events sent a Council Bluffs man to the hospital late Thursday morning with critical injuries.

The Sarpy County sheriff's department says a road construction worker was breaking for lunch when he suffered a seizure while in his work truck near 212th and Shramm Road.

The vehicle accelerated across a dirt field and struck a tractor attached to a compressor.  The force of the collision broke the tractor in half and pushed the compressor on top of a worker standing next to it.

21 year old McCauley Hogan of Council Bluffs suffered several broken bones and internal injuries.  He was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
