Update: Hooper Man Killed In Crash Identified

Update:   Dodge County Sheriff's Office identified the man killed Friday one-half mile south of Hooper as 35 year old Skeeter Garule of Hooper.

Heavy fog in the area is a possible factor in the accident.  Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and both were wearing seat belts.

Dodge County authorities say a Hooper man was killed in an early-morning crash on Friday.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 275, a half mile south of Hooper.

Sheriff Steve Hespen says a 1989 Honda Accord was heading south on County Road 20, attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 275.  His car was struck by a westbound semi driven by 49 year old Arthur Orchard of Omaha.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name has not been released.  Orchard was not hurt.
