A federal court jury found Lori Jenkins guilty of a Felon in Possession of Ammunition. She is the mother of Nikko Jenkins, the suspect in four murders last summer. Authorities say that ammunition was used in two of those murders.
It took a jury three hours to decide Jenkins' fate. She now faces up to 20 years in prison on that conviction. Jenkins is also charged with accessory to murder and with helping get rid of evidence in district court in connection to those four murders.
Jenkins attorney argued it was a mistake in identity and that Christine Bordeaux, a relative had bought the bullets. Bordeaux testified in court and admitted to being in the car but it was Jenkins who went into the store and bought the ammunition. Bordeaux is also in jail facing charges in a different case.
