Nearly two dozen Nebraska museums are offering free admission this summer to active members of the military.

The free admission offer runs through September 1. It is part of a national program called Blue Star Museums. More than 2,000 museums nationwide are participating.

The Omaha-area museums offering free admission include the Joslyn, General Crook House, El Museo Latino and Boys Town.  Five museums in Lincoln are also free.

Details of the free admission program and a list of participating museums can be found online at http://arts.gov/national/blue-star-museums
