Playground For Children With Disabilities Coming To Benson

Omaha City officials broke ground Friday on the $1.2 million AllPlay Park Project at Benson Park. It will include a playground, a sprayground water area and a fishing pier that are accessible to children and adults with disabilities.

Bruce Froendt with the AllPlay Foundation says the new features will remove obstacles and allow those with disabibilities to join their friends instead of just watching them.

AllPlay opened a playground at Seymour Smith Park in 2008. That facility includes a playground, baseball fields and a splash pad.
