School Custodian Saves Choking Student

A Papillion-La Vista elementary school custodian and teacher's aide are being credited for saving a sixth grade student who was choking on his lunch.

It happened Tuesday at Hickory Hill elementary, near 74th and Giles.

Teacher's aide Gina Trout applied the Heimlich maneuver on Nick Bierschenk, but the nacho chip didn't move.

Custodian John Mason then stepped in and was able to dislodge the chip allowing the child to breathe again.
