Update - Suspect is identified as Lamontrelle Ashley. 


An Omaha police officer was in the right place at the right time Friday morning.  The officer was in his crusier writing reports near 30th and Reddick Friday when he heard a gunshot and then saw a man firing shots into the air.

When the officer got out and confronted the man, he tossed the gun and took off running through Miller Park.

After a brief foot chase, the man was arrested.  Police tell Newsradio 1110 KFAB the suspect was a convicted felon.
