Two Critically Injured In House Fire

The fire broke out around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon near 92nd and Larimore. There was heavy smoke and flames coming from the home when firefighters arrived.  Acting Assistant Chief Dan Olsen says both victims were outside the house when they arrived.

He says two employees from nearby St. James School saw the fire and helped one of the victims get out of the burning house. Olsen says the employees opened the front door as the fire continued to burn and found the victim just inside the house.

Both victims sustained burns and smoke inhalation and were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Olsen says three family pets died in the fire.  Firefighters got the fire under control in about 10 minutes.  The cause of the fire is not yet known.
