United Way Falls Short On Fundraising Goal

The Omaha chapter of the United Way has fallen short of its fundraising goal.

The United Way of the Midlands raised 22-point-seven-million dollars in its 2013 campaign, which fell short of the its 24-million-dollar objective.

Officials say that the federal government shutdown in October hampered fundraising efforts and uncertainty about the federal Affordable Care Act also caused people to donate less this past year.
