Woman Learning Paper Route Killed In Crash

Lancaster County authorities say slick roads are to blame for a crash Monday morning that killed 27 year old Jessica Lyons.  It happened along Saltillo Road just west of 56th Street, south of Lincoln.

Sheriff Terry Wagner says Lyons was a back seat passenger in a Jeep Grand Cherokee that hit a patch of ice, went out of control and into a ditch.  Lyons was thrown from the vehicle and later died at the hospital.

Her husband, John Lyons, and the driver, John Norbert, were taken to the hospital.  Lyons was treated and released and Norbert suffered serious injuries.

Wagner says Norbert is a newspaper delivery driver for the Lincoln Journal Star and was training the couple to handle his paper route while he took some time off.
