The Best Burger's By State-See NE and Iowa

It’s time for another national burger rating and this time it comes from the folks at Food & Wine. With so many choices and variations possible, they decided to focus their ratings of the best burger in each state with the meat in the burger, concentrating on high-quality beef prepared correctly on a great bun. Here are some of their findings.

  • Iowa: B&B Grocery in Des Moines – known for the Quadzilla which is more than a pound of grilled beef split into four patties and topped with mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onions and American cheese on a bun straight from the griddle.
  • Stella's Bar & Grill in Bellevue. The history of the best burger in Nebraska goes all the way back to the 1930s, Each burger starts as 6.5 ounces of fresh-ground beef, hand pressed onto a cast iron grill. Some people are content with the classic; others prefer double and triple deckers, with all manner of trimmings, though between the meat and a mighty fine bun delivered daily from a popular Italian bakery down the road, you don't want to drown out the flavor—cheese and onion will be plenty.
