If you're trying to eat less, sniffing insulin apparently might help. According to a new study published in Nature Communications, individuals without diabetes may someday benefit from using insulin around mealtimes-- but as an appetite-suppressing nasal spray. Though the research is still in its early days, the data shows study subjects with normal insulin sensitivity liked photos of food five percent less after inhaling insulin spray compared to the placebo group. In fact, for some of these people, their interest in the food photo dropped by as much as 27 percent. One issue: the insulin nasal spray did not have this dampening effect of participants with insulin resistance. But it's possible that one day you'll be sniffing insulin to beat your unhealthy food cravings. (Pop Sci)
