Kane Brown heads to Washington to raise awareness of struggling renters

Kane Brown is partnering with Make Room Inc. to shine a spotlight on the critical issue of struggling renters in America. On Tuesday, September 12, he will participate in a congressional briefing at the Hart Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  The goal of the briefing is to expose the human suffering and societal costs of the rental housing crisis, reinforce the importance of placing affordable rental housing on the national agenda, and advocate for solutions that will end housing insecurity. Members of Congress, staff, and impacted families will also participate in the briefing.

Kane said, “When I was younger, my mom and I lived in a car because we didn’t have anywhere to go. After graduating from high school, even though I was working, I didn’t have enough money to pay rent so I stayed with my Nana. I’m proud to partner with Make Room to help other people who have been in similar housing situations. I just want people to know that they can make it through hard times like I did.”

Fans are encouraged to tell their own stories about struggling to make rent or elaborate on how Kane's backstory resonates with them by uploading a video message HERE. Those who share a video story may join Kane for the opportunity to be part of the #MakeRoomKaneVideo in Washington, DC on September 12th.
