Thomas Rhett is spending part of his summer playing stadium dates on Kenny Chesney’s “The Trip Around the Sun Tour,” and it’s dream come true for the singer.
Thomas says touring with Kenny is something that he’s dreamed about “since I was 19 years old,” and he jumped at the chance when offered a spot on the bill. “Anybody who is somebody has done that tour, and there’s a reason for that,” he notes.
Thomas previously played a couple stadium shows with Kenny last year and admits he “got to learn so much” during that time. He noted especially how Kenny “connects to the person on the front row and the person in the nosebleed,” which is something he’s “anxious” to learn.
Thomas’ next date opening for Kenny is Saturday at Soldier Field in Chicago.
