Roseanne Barr Reveals How Her Character Dies on "The Connors"

Roseanne Barr has revealed that her character will die of an opioid overdose on the spinoff The Conners, which debuts next month. At the end of what ultimately ended up being Roseanne’s final season, the title character began taking pain pills for a knee injury. She says she planned on it being a set up for an addiction storyline. "I wanted to show it in the show. But I was never going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose," Barr said during an appearance on conservative activist Brandon Straka’s YouTube show Walk Away. "It’s so cynical and horrible. She should have died as a hero or not at all." She added, "It wasn’t enough to [fire me], they [ABC] had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show. There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s done. It’s over."
