Firefighters rescue dog from tiny drainpipe

Khaleesi, a miniature long-haired dachshund, was being trained by her owner in a Secaucus, New Jersey park when she saw a rabbit and decided to chase it. Unfortunately, the 18-month-old pup got stuck in a vertical position about six feet into the six-inch wide pipe, where she was forced to stay overnight because getting her out was so difficult.

Little Khaleesi was stuck there for nearly 24 hours, until firefighters were able to free her. Now her owner, Emilio Ramos, is happy to have his dog back and thankful for the firefighters’ hard work. “It made us realize that there’s still good in a lot of people,” he says.
