Nebraska Cornhusker wide receiver JD Spielman is taking a leave of absence from the football team.
Husker Coach Scott Frost confirmed Monday (3/2) that Spielman will likely not be part of the team's Spring practices. Coach did say JD could return for Summer conditioning.
The statement said Spielman is back home in Minnesota dealing with a personal health matter.
