RARE WILDCAT FOUND IN SCOTLAND NATIONAL PARK

Pete McNab was on a walk with his son and a friend when they came upon a herd of sheep circling something in the snow.

As the trio approached, the animals scattered. What Pete found in the snow of Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park was a small kitten.

The tiny animal was matted and suffering from malnutrition. The cat was also unable to stand on its own feet.

Pete took the kitten to a local vet to nurse it back to health. A specialist there discovered the kitten was actually a rare Scottish Wildcat. There are only 100 to 300 of the species remaining.
