JASON, CARRIE, CODY: Big Winners at the CMT Music Awards

The 2022 CMT Music Awards made its major network debut on Monday night, live on CBS from Nashville.

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood, and Cody Johnson were the big winners of the night. Jason and Carrie picked up two CMT buckles -- Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year for "If I Didn't Love You." Cody also grabbed two awards -- Male Video of the Year for "Til You Can't" and CMT Digital First Performance for "Dear Rodeo."

George Strait won his very first CMT Award for Performance Video of the Year for his tribute to Charley Pride. In a special moment, Maddie Font of Maddie and Tae gave an emotional acceptance speech for winning Duo/Group Video of the Year, while her partner, Taylor Kerr appeared from her home cuddling her newborn daughter, Leighton

Actor Anthony Mackie took the lead as host with Kane Brown subbing on-site, while Kelsea Ballerini joined the show remotely from her home due to her diagnosis of asymptomatic COVID-19.

Performances

Keith Urban opened the show with his single "Wild Hearts."  

Swindell and Lainey Wilson performed a rain-soaked version of "Never Say Never" from Lower Broadway.

Little Big Town premiered their new single, "Hell Yeah." 

Parker McCollum took the side stage to sing his recent number-one hit, "To Be Loved by You." 

Carly Pearce sang her new song, "Diamondback."

Old Dominion was in Walk of Fame Park to perform "No Hard Feelings."

Thomas Rhett was joined by Riley Green for "Half of Me" from Thomas's new album, Where We Started.

Carrie Underwood sang "Ghost Story," which was pre-taped during a performance at her Las Vegas residency.

Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams re-created their performance of "Heaven" from their Crossroads episode to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show.

Mickey Guyton and Black Pumas gave a taste of their upcoming Crossroads episode with "All My Favorite Colors."

Priscilla Block sang her latest, "My Bar," from the side stage.

Gabby Barrett performed "Pick Me Up" from the deluxe edition of her album Goldmine.

Walker Hayes sang his latest, "AA."

Breland performed a snippet of his song "Praise the Lord."

Kelsea Ballerini sang her new song, "Heart First," from her backyard.

Maren Morris was joined by her husband, Ryan Hurd, for " I Can't Love You Any More."

Jessie James Decker took her turn on the side stage for "Should Have Known Better."

Cody Johnson took the stage on Lower Broadway to sing his number-one hit " Til You Can't."  

The Judds reunited for "Love Can Build a Bridge."

Jimmie Allen, Monica and Little Big Town teamed up for "Pray."

Elvie Shane sang his number-one hit "My Boy."

Kane Brown performed his latest single, "One Mississippi," in front of Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony. 

Caitlyn Smith sang her single "High" from the side stage.

Miranda Lambert took the Lower Broadway stage to sing "If I Was a Cowboy."

Kenny Chesney closed out the show with "Beers in Mexico" -- his first CMT Awards performance in seven years.
