The Guilty Eats folks have compiled a list of the some of the best Christmas foods in each of the 50 states to add to your holiday events or dinners. Below is a selection of several and if you don’t see your state in the list, all 50 can be found HERE.

  • Arizona – Flan/Chocoflan: This classic caramel dessert is extremely popular in Arizona and when you add chocolate it’s even better.
  • California – Peppermint Bark: A white chocolate peppermint dessert also makes a great gift for your guests.
  • Delaware – Gingerbread Cookies: These classic cookies are delicious and easy to make and there are numerous recipes out there to customize your favorite style.
  • Georgia – Peach Bread Pudding: A sweet, soft and fruity dessert that takes advantage of fresh Georgia peaches.
  • Iowa – Classic Beef Stew: One of those one-pot meals that can just almost instantly warm you up on any given cold Winter night.
  • Kansas – Country Fried Steak: It sounds like a southern specialty, but it also works for breakfast or a dinner in the middle of the country.
  • Louisiana – Gumbo: This may be an obvious choice but it’s hearty, flavorful and spicy and with the addition of shrimp, seafood, meat and veggies it’s a winner.
  • Maine – Lobster Bisque: This creamy Maine staple is great as an appetizer or even a main course.
  • Michigan – Classic Sugar Cookies: This choice is kid-friendly and universally enjoyed during the holiday season and they can be decorated really easily with sprinkles and icing.
  • Mississippi – Pecan Pie Cheesecake: It’s sweet and rich but the combination of the flavors of pecan pie and cheesecake make this a great choice.
  • Nebraska – Mocha Yule Log: There are three words that describe this treat and they are: Creamy, Soft, Delicious. A perfect blend of coffee and chocolate.
  • Ohio – Buckeyes – These are made from a base of peanut butter fudge dipped in chocolate and have a sweet, nutty chocolate flavor.
  • South Carolina – Collard Green Salad: This can be made cold or warm and is a Southern classic dish.
  • Texas – Oyster Stew: This is a Christmas Eve tradition that began in the 1800s in the Southeast U.S. and is a good way for new guests to try out oysters.
  • Virginia – Peanut Butter Pie: A rich, creamy delicious dessert to top off a holiday dinner in style.
