According to a psychotherapist who's trained the FBI and CIA, here are some signs someone is lying to you:
- Liars talk too much -- Truthful responses are short and direct.
- Liars try to sell you the truth -- When someone's telling you the truth, they're not interested in convincing you of anything. They only want to tell you the truth. Liars over-explain stuff in an attempt to convince you they're being honest.
- Liars are relieved when the conversation is over -- Lying can be exhausting, which is why they're relieved once they're done talking.
- Liars smile with their mouths, not their face -- The smile doesn't include the upper part of the face, but the bottom of the face only.
- Liars pretend to be calm -- They often try to portray the image of somebody who is confident by doing stuff like stretching out and yawning.
- Liars' stories are too perfect -- If the story has no holes and sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
