🦵 Can You Stand on One Leg for 30 Seconds? You Might Be Younger Than You Think! 🦵
So, I read this wild story and immediately had to try it out… Set the timer, balanced on each leg, and nailed it! But then I read the last part and gave it another go. Let’s just say, it didn’t end well 😅.
Are you feeling like you’re aging gracefully, or is it all going downhill way too fast? Here’s a fun little test to find out…
According to a new study from the Mayo Clinic, standing on one leg for 30 seconds is a surprisingly good indicator of how fast you’re aging. If you struggle with it, you might be officially OLD (yikes!).
They had people try to balance on one leg for 30 seconds. Most young folks had no problem, but for every decade you add, your balance time drops by about two seconds on average.
The best predictor? How long you can stand on your NON-dominant leg (the one you wouldn’t kick a ball with). If you can balance for at least 30 seconds without much trouble, you’re not over the hill yet. But if you can’t… or you sway a lot… well, you might be getting up there.
And if you can do it with your eyes closed? You’re basically a health superstar! 🌟
