Typos on your iPhone? It’s not just you!

If you’ve been texting “duck” when you definitely didn’t mean “duck,” or sending messages that look like your cat walked across the screen—good news: it’s not just you.

What’s Going On?

A bug in iOS 26 is making iPhone users more typo-prone than usual. And no, it’s not just clumsy thumbs or autocorrect gone rogue. Some users say the issue is worse on newer, thinner iPhones, where the keyboard sits closer to the edge of the screen. Others think it’s a touchscreen sensitivity problem.

Either way, the result is the same: more typos, more frustration, and more awkward “oops” follow-ups.

Is Apple Saying Anything?

Not yet. Apple hasn’t made any public statements about the bug. But longtime iPhone users know the drill—Apple often fixes small glitches quietly in future updates without ever officially acknowledging them.

So for now, the only thing you can do is file a report through Apple’s Feedback Assistant and hope they’re already working on a fix behind the scenes.

What Can You Do?

  • Try slowing down your typing a bit (easier said than done, we know).
  • Use voice-to-text when you can.
  • Keep an eye out for iOS updates—bug fixes often sneak in quietly.

And most importantly, don’t beat yourself up over those typos. Your phone might just be the one dropping the ball.
