Holiday music is supposed to make us feel festive, right? But let’s be honest—some songs are played so often that they go from merry to maddening.
Researchers at FinanceBuzz dug into Google Trends and surveyed more than 1,200 adults to find out which Christmas songs drive people up the wall. The results? A mix of classics and modern hits that we’ve all heard on repeat since Halloween.
And the Winner (or Loser) Is…
At the very top sits Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Yes, the same song that dominates playlists, commercials, and TikTok videos every December. It’s beloved by many, but apparently just as many are ready to hit “skip.”
The Rest of the Countdown
Here’s how the rest of the “most annoying” list shakes out:
- “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” by Alvin and the Chipmunks
- “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano
- “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives
- “Baby It’s Cold Outside” (covered by countless artists)
- “Deck the Halls”
- “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon
- “White Christmas”
- “Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney
- “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
