“Okay, picture this. Watermelons… but tiny. Like, chicken‑egg tiny. A mom and daughter in Virginia figured out how to grow these adorable mini melons, and they taste just like the real thing.
These little melons come from a project started about five years ago by Delaney Raptis, a high school teacher, and her mom. They used a non‑GMO mutation technique to shrink full‑size watermelons into adorable, single‑serve versions.
And yes, they say the flavor is the same as the big ones. Sweet, juicy, summery. Basically everything you want in a watermelon… just tiny.
Smaller fruit means less waste, easier storage, and maybe even more fun. Because who wouldn’t want a handful of tiny watermelons?
