WATCH: Veteran Reunited With Stolen Service Dog

In the middle of a move from Illinois to Florida, U.S. Marine Veteran Lanasu Whitner and her husband Tim’s SUV was stolen. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, Lanasu’s service dog, Wrigley, was inside at the time and he was taken, too.

The couple was at an Indianapolis gas station when the car was stolen and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded quickly and sent out a call for help on its Facebook page. Wrigley, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, helps Lanasu with her seizures and migraines.

The Whitner’s SUV was recovered and after placing some articles of their clothing around the area where Wrigley had been spotted by locals, the service dog recognized his owner’s scent and came back. The family was close by and Wrigley ran toward them, ready to accept kisses and pats of love. And they’re all happy to be reunited after the stressful event.
