Holiday “Cheer Map” Shows Best Lights In Your Neighborhood

Is one of your favorite holiday traditions driving around to see the Christmas lights displays in your area? Lots of people have fond childhood memories of getting bundled up, loading up in the car and driving around with their parents to see the houses that go all out with their holiday lights. And thanks to a new map, finding those homes will be easier than ever this year.

Nextdoor, the social networking site for neighborhoods, has teamed up with The Home Depot to create an interactive map of holiday lights. Their Cheer Map is live online and on the Nextdoor app, showing you exactly where to find the best and biggest displays of festive lights near you. If you don’t already have a Nextdoor profile, you’ll need to make one to access the map, and once you do, you’ll see a blinking light icon on the map indicating a house with lights worth checking out.

Since 90% of Nextdoor users say they plan to put up holiday lights this year, there should be plenty of homes nearby to see. You can also add your home to the map if you’ve decked your halls and want people to come see your handiwork. Not sure how to get started with your decorations? The Cheer Map also includes how-to directions for hanging lights and holiday decorating.
