HOCKEY PLAYER FINED $2,000 FOR FAKING IT

P. K. Subban of the Nashville Predators was fined $2,000 by the National Hockey League for embellishing a hit he received.

The penalty is defined like this:


Diving (ice hockey): Diving (also called embellishment) is a term used in ice hockey to describe a player trying to get the attention of the referee by embellishing an infraction from an opposing player in an attempt to draw a penalty.


Subban took a hit from Joel Edmunson of the St. Louis Blues in Game 4 of the NHL playoffs.
