The Sopranos

The finale for the HBO series "The Sopranos" aired 11 years ago with a scene that simply cut to black.

To this day, many viewers are still upset with the way it ended.

For years, there were many questions regarding the fate of Tony Soprano.

Creator David Chase would not elaborate on any meaning of the final scene. He would say the viewer had all they needed in that scene to draw a conclusion. He would say, "Anyone who wants to watch it, it’s all there."

Years later, Chase would say the song in the scene ("Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey) would be the key to the answer. Chase said, "It was very simple and much more on the nose than people think. That's what I wanted people to believe. That life ends and death comes, but don't stop believing."
