It was 3 years ago that the musical world lost Prince (April 21, 2016). His influence on the industry was far-reaching.

Prince not only had hit songs and hit movies, he wrote songs for others and even played a role in the invention of those "parental advisory" stickers that appeared on CDs over the last 35 years.

It turns out that Tipper Gore (ex-wife of former vice president Al Gore) became enraged over the explicit lyrics of "Darling Nikki" after she purchased the album for her then 11-year-old daughter. She thought parents should be warned about content. Through the formation of the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), all sorts of albums began receiving the infamous sticker.
