Anheuser-Busch stopped making beer to...

Most days, the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville, Georgia is busy making 24 different varieties of beer. But when disaster strikes, they halt production on the brew and use their facilities to help those affected. This week, they’ve made more than 50,000 cans of drinking water for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

"Throughout the year, we periodically pause beer production at our Cartersville, Georgia, brewery to produce emergency canned drinking water so we are ready to help out communities across the country in times of crisis,” explains Brewmaster Sarah Schilling. “Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help in these situations.”

The cans of water are headed to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and will be delivered to the Red Cross facility there. Over the last few years, the plant has produced cans of water for victims of flooding in Texas and Oklahoma, victims of Hurricane Matthew, Hurricane Sandy, and firefighters working on wildfires in Washington.
