You may not get back as much this year in taxes!

The IRS starts accepting 2022 tax returns today (January 23rd) and the agency is warning that your refund could be smaller this year due to

  • The end of stimulus checks, the enhanced child credit and special pandemic-era tax break for charitable deductions.
  • Taxes on investment gains

Financial experts recommend filing electronically this year to avoid the headache of a paper back log.

....and don't forget the government is requiring Venmo and other peer-to-peer payment apps to report income for goods and services worth $600 or more annually.

The general tax deadline is Tuesday, April 18th. If you need an extension, ask for form 4868.
