Separately (and occasionally together), they're prolific songwriters and country musicians - and they're also good friends. So what of the idea of Morgan Wallen, Hardy and ERNEST perhaps forming a sort of country supergroup? The history of the genre has other examples of incredible talents coming together for an album, or a tour, or both. The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings), The Outlaws (Willie, Waylon, Jessi Colter and Tompall Glaser), Pistol Annies (Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley) just to name a few. Could we see a similar meeting of the minds with these three?
While all three have incredibly busy careers on their own, they also love working together - frequently appearing on each other's songs, at each other's shows, and writing together. So it's not that far-fetched: could the three friends form a group for an album, tour, both?
"We’ve definitely talked about it," HARDY confirms. "I think it would be awesome. I think it would do really well, and would set up a tour perfectly. I don’t think anybody in our little trio would be opposed to that. It would be fun." For now, you can see ERNEST and Morgan together when Morgan's "One Night At A Time" tour resumes later this month, and Hardy, who joined the two of them on the opening night of the tour, may occasionally show up if fans are lucky.
