- An alligator busted into a Louisana family's home through the doggy door.
- Don and Jan Schultz of New Iberia were awakened by their dog barking in the middle of the night.
- Jan said, "(The dog) growled. I thought that there was probably a cat walking through the yard. She growled again, and I heard a thump. And I was like, 'Oh, somebody’s in the house."
- Don got up and saw the gator in the hallway.
- He said, "I took a big leap backwards. I told my wife, 'There’s an alligator in the house.' She thought I was joking. I had to take a picture to prove it to her."
- The couple called 911 and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Someone came and wrangled the alligator out of the house.
- The Schultz family hopes an alligator doesn't come through the doggy door again. They have installed a door with a sensor that only their dog's collar can activate.
