The advancement of artificial intelligence has infiltrated every part of our lives, and that now includes where we go on vacation. According to a new travel survey, 36% of people say they are likely to use A.I., like ChatGPT, to plan an itinerary for their next trip. For those who don't like to take the time to plan a trip themselves, this is a very useful tool. But for travel agents, it could be a deathblow to their business. Planners can go on ChatGPT and enter a simple prompt like, "plan a two-day trip to New York City" and it will provide them with a full itinerary of places to check out and things to do. Users have said that it does a pretty good job of choosing the most popular tourist spots at their desired destination but note that it A.I. doesn't take into account things like how long it takes to get from one activity to another, so you may have to do some of your own research.
