A survey of 720,000 veterans uncovered eight health habits that could extend your life by decades!

40-year-old men who practice these habits could add 24 years to their lives, and women could add 21. These habits are: being physically active; never smoking; a good diet; not regularly binge drinking; good sleep; positive social relationships; stress management; and being free of an opioid addiction.

"The earlier the better, but even if you only make a small change in your 40s, 50s, or 60s, it still is beneficial," study author Dr. Xuan-Mai Nguyen said. "Healthy lifestyle habits can prevent the underlying causes of chronic diseases, which could help people to live longer, until their eighties rather than their sixties." (dailymail.co.uk)
