Jelly Roll may be a superstar, but he's a typical husband, and we all do it: he promised something to his wife and then let it slide, until delivering was nearly impossible. And he was in a panic.
Jelly may be a typical husband, but we did mention he's also a superstar, right? So he thought fast, and jumped on social media to enlist his fans in perhaps salvaging the situation.
He said......"Alright, y’all, I need your help. I’m a husband and I did what husbands do, I told my wife I’d take care of the dressing because I wanted it from my favorite restaurant. Then, I waited until the day before Thanksgiving to call for the dressing. I can’t get nobody on the phone for the dressing. We need help. PLEASE. If you have a contact at Barr’s Music City Soul Food in Nashville, it’s the best dressing ever. Tell that lady I will give her $1,000 for two pans of Barr’s Music City Soul Food dressing for my family on Thanksgiving."
Jelly's fans came through, the restaurant was contacted, and Jelly got his dressing at $500 a pan. But if the restaurant owners were inconvenienced at all, the insane amount of publicity the incident stirred more than made up for it. In fact, the owner posted his own video thanking the country singer. "Thank you to Jelly Roll for what you did today…It’s all over the country about our famous dressing here at Barr’s Music City Soul Food." The restaurant said they had received over 200 calls from near and far after Jelly Roll sent out his call for help. The question is, did they still take the $1000?
