Forget sugar and spice, and consider celebrating the holiday with a classic Christmas tradition -- the Christmas Pickle. The tradition, which dates back to Germany, says that every year, an ornament shaped like a pickle is the last to be hung on the tree. The first child to locate the pickle hidden among the pine needles on Christmas morning gets to open the first present. Here in the states, the tradition is most popular in the Midwest, where there are a lot of German immigrants. In fact, Berrien Springs, Michigan, was named the Christmas Pickle Capital of the World, and used to host Christmas pickle festivals each year.
