- Amazon announced in September that ads were on the way for Prime Video‘s entertainment content. Now we have a date.
- The streaming platform just announced that ads and commercials will begin rolling out during shows and movies starting on January 29th.
- Users will have to pay an additional $2.99 per month for the ad-free option.
- Amazon Prime currently costs $14.99 each month or $139 annually. (Prime Video can be subscribed to individually for $8.99/month.) The new charge for ad-free streaming would bring Prime to just under $18, and would push standalone Prime Video to just under $12.
