A new study says that intermittent fasting – eating in a small window every day – correlates with a much higher risk of heart attack. Doctors analyzed more than 20,000 people who said they'd been on an intermittent fasting diet for an average of eight years. People who restrict their eating to eight hours a day or less have a 91% greater risk from cardiovascular disease. And even with the health benefits that some people experience, intermittent fasting does not reduce your overall risk of death. Doctors say more research is needed, but that the results suggest that intermittent fasting might help in the short term but shouldn't become a long-term habit.
