Are you a procrastinator who always waits for the last minute to complete a task? Or, are you the type to get it done right away – what's become known as a pre-crastinator? Whichever extreme you may be, experts warn there are downsides to both. Procrastinators put a lot of unnecessary stress on themselves to finish something right before a deadline, and pre-crastinators put the same amount of unnecessary stress on themselves to get it done as quickly as possible, because they're afraid they won't get it done in time.

Christopher Gehrig, a psychology professor at Helmut Schmidt University in Germany says, "A healthy balance between pre-crastination and procrastination may involve effectively planning and prioritizing tasks without feeling too pressured to complete them immediately."
