Changes Are Coming to the ACT Exam
- The ACT college admissions exam announced signifiant changes this week that will help “meet the challenges students and educators face.”
- CEO of ACT said in a blog statement on the exam’s website, “First, we have made the test more flexible for students by giving them the ability to choose whether to take the science section.
- She continued, “English, reading, and math remain as the core sections of the ACT test that will result in a college-reportable score. Like the writing section, science will be offered as an additional section.”
- Students will have the choice of taking the standard ACT, the ACT plus science, the ACT plus writing, or the ACT plus science and writing.
- Additionally, the ACT will be up to one-third shorter, depending on the version the student takes.
