How far would you go to try to find love? A single guy from West Philadelphia is looking for love, or just a date, in an unconventional way by really putting himself out there … or up there. Dave Cline has recently rented a billboard to advertise his quest for a date.
The 28-year-old’s huge sign hangs in his neighborhood and features a smiling photo of himself giving a thumb’s up, with the message: “Dave is single! Want to go on a DATE with DAVE?”
- It features some “fast facts” about him, including that he “Can cook (well), “has normal hobbies,” he “owns a cat” and that he “bought a billboard.”
- Extra points to Dave for including a photo of his cat on the billboard. Including a photo of your pet in your dating app profile is supposed to boost your success, so it’s got to help on a billboard, too.
- The datamanager paid more than $1,000 to rent the large, colorful billboard for a month, so has it worked? Not so far.
- Dave says it was actually “just supposed to be funny for the most part,” but it has led to some messages and he has a date in the works. While he’s still currently single, he’s optimistic.
“If you live in Philadelphia (or anywhere with central AC) feel free to send me a message,” he writes on Instagram. “My only request is that if you want to reach out, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t send me spam, threats, or anything weird! I have literally no idea if this will be popular at all or totally forgettable in 2 days, so just have fun and feel free to ask me out ❤️.” Interested single women over the age of 21 are encouraged to send him a message on Instagram at date_dave_philly.
