- When was the last time you cleaned your kitchen's range hood? If you can't remember, it might be time for a deep clean.
- Cleaning the range every other month allows it to draw in moisture, smoke, and grease efficiently while cooking.
- Cleaning it less or not at all can be dangerous due to caked-on grease. Cleaning and fire prevention experts told Huff Post that the "single biggest hazard presented by dirty range hoods involves grease fires."
- It could also make you sick if the greasy and bacteria-filled film from a dirty hood falls into your food.
- Turn off the power and wipe the hood using a microfiber cloth and a degreasing solution for a thorough clean, allowing the filters to soak for 15 to 30 minutes.
