If you’ve been feeling stressed lately, there’s a simple breathing trick that can help you reset in just a few minutes. It’s called box breathing, and even Navy SEALs use it.
🫁 How Box Breathing Works
The idea is simple. You breathe in a steady rhythm that forms a “box” pattern:
- Inhale for four seconds
- Hold for four seconds
- Exhale for four seconds
- Hold again for four seconds
Then you repeat the cycle.
There’s no perfect amount of time to do it. Some people feel calmer after a minute or two. Others like to keep going for 10 or 15 minutes. You can do it at your desk, in your car, before bed — anywhere.
💙 A Fun Fact
Navy SEALs use box breathing before stressful situations. If it helps them stay focused under pressure, imagine what it can do for a busy Tuesday.
🌿 Why It Helps
Box breathing slows your heart rate, steadies your thoughts, and gives your brain a moment to reset. It’s like hitting a tiny pause button on your stress.
