Guess how much teachers are spending of their own $$$ on school supplies?


Nearly all public school teachers in the U.S. use their own money to purchase at least some of their classroom supplies. In findings released Tuesday, the National Center of Education Statistics says 94 percent of teachers report using their own funds to buy certain supplies they need. The center also found that teachers spend an average of $479 a year on supplies, or almost double the $250 tax deduction afforded to them by Uncle Sam.
