Summer is just around the corner, and you'll want to be sure to stock up on sunscreen. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning Tuesday (May 22nd) to companies marketing supplements that they claim will counter the effects of the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb says in the agency news release, "We've found products purporting to provide protection from the sun that aren't delivering the advertised benefits. Instead they're misleading consumers, and putting people at risk. [...] There's no pill or capsule that can replace your sunscreen." (UPI)
