It sounds like Dolly Parton may soon be getting her own TV show. The news was spilled by her “9 to 5” co-star and friend Lily Tomlin when she was asked during a Netflix FYsee Emmy event whether we were ever gong to see Dolly guest on “Grace and Frankie,” Tomlin’s series with fellow “9 to 5” star Jane Fonda.
“We’d like to see Dolly and we keep hoping we’ll work out a schedule, but she’s just so busy,” Tomlin said. “She does so many things, and now she has a big show deal herself at Netflix, so I don’t know.”
When Jane seemed surprised at the news of Dolly’s deal, Tomlin explained, “Yeah, it’s a show – Sam Haskell, her partner, they’re going to do a series about Dolly’s songs, like she did with ‘Coat of Many Colors’ and all that stuff.”
As for whether Dolly is actually going to be in the show, Lily noted, “Yeah, she’ll be in it when it calls for her.”
